KILGORE HISTORICAL
PRESERVATION FOUNDATION

WORKING TO PRESERVE, PROTECT, AND PROMOTE KILGORE’S UNIQUE HERITAGE

Founded in 1987, the organization was chartered to preserve and restore the unique derrick skyline of boomtown Kilgore.  The mission is to also preserve its historic and important buildings and landmarks, and to document Kilgore’s history in print and accessible archive collections.

Annual donations make it possible for KHPF to maintain and improve the following:
Derrick Stars
World’s Richest Acre Park
WRA Bricks and Pavers
Derrick Skyline with 54 derricks
Derrick Stars, Merry Xmas/Happy New Year atop the derricks
Oilfield equipment at Christmas Tree Park and under derricks
Historic photos archives collection
Publications of photo histories of Kilgore
Dean-Keener-Crim Historic Home
Kilgore History and Art Center at the old post office (KHAC)

Derrick lights are turned on for special events such as KHS Class Reunions, East Texas Oilman’s Chili Cookoff, Rangerette Revels, Octoberfest and East Texas Pipe Organ Festival.

An anonymous donor will match funds received prior to December 1, 2022 specifically for KHAC improvements.  Please indicate on the return form where your donations should be allocated; either to the KHAC match or annual operations for the above projects.
